A clear brief makes creator campaigns easier to execute
A useful influencer brief gives creators enough information to represent the brand accurately without making every piece of content feel scripted.
1. Campaign overview
Include the brand, product, target audience, campaign objective and key dates.
2. Deliverables
Specify the number and format of Reels, Stories, videos or other assets. State whether the creator must publish the content or only deliver it to the brand.
3. Key messages
Identify the main product benefits, approved facts, required talking points and call to action.
Keep the list focused. Too many mandatory messages can make a short video difficult to follow.
4. Creative direction
Share references, tone, visual requirements, opening ideas and any essential product shots. Explain which elements are mandatory and where creators have creative freedom.
5. Claims and disclosure
List prohibited or unsubstantiated claims and explain the expected paid partnership disclosure. This is especially important for beauty, healthcare and wellness campaigns.
6. Review and timelines
Define draft deadlines, feedback turnaround, included revision rounds and final delivery dates. Clarify what happens if the brief changes after filming.
7. Usage rights
Document where content may appear, whether paid advertising is permitted, how long the rights last and whether editing or creator-handle advertising is included.
8. Reporting
Decide what the creator should share after posting, such as reach, views, engagement and link clicks, where available.
A simple final checklist
Before sending the brief, confirm the product has arrived, the deliverables are unambiguous, the approval contact is named and all commercial terms are agreed.
A strong brief reduces avoidable revisions while leaving room for creators to produce natural, audience-relevant content.
